When a web surfing granny in Auckland prepares to explore Bali's Hindu culture where does she start?
Launched in 1997, Bali Paradise Online has become an incubator for the island's tourism product and services by offering fresh ideas and seeking 'out of the box' solutions for effectively linking BPO clients and the customers. "Travel agents are now much more comfortable with sites like Bali Paradise Online," said Ms Caruso. "Agents can use the site to find answers to customer queries - or they can recommend to clients that they spend time going through the site at home, finding what they want, and then going back to the agent to arrange the bookings." Bali Paradise Online's recent developments, include:
* The Chat Room, where some of Bali's most colorful long-time residents stop by to interact with others who have an interest in Bali http://www.balichat.com
* The Travel Forum, where news , opinions and experiences about Bali and beyond are shared http://www.baliforum.com
* Video Clips. See the action, experience the special quality of Bali at the first Bali website offering video http://www.balivideoclips.com
* Bali Paradise Travel Club's Hot Deals: BPO is working with online travel partners to offer hot deals in the club newsletter. Subscribers can book directly with the company offering the Hot Deal.
Bali Paradise Online has strengthened its presence on the web every year. In 1998 it had 6.6 million hits, and more than half a million visitors. In 1999 it had almost 10.8 million hits and more than 1.4 million visitors. During the same period, its client base more than doubled.
