What is GDPR?
GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulations which went into effect on May 25, 2018 and regulate how companies can use the personal data of European Union citizens.
In a nutshell, these regulations specify that people/guests/buyers/members must supply written consent to the use of their personal information for marketing purposes. It gives them the right to access their data and to know how it is being used, as well as the right to be “forgotten” if they do not wish their information to be retained.
Meeting these requirements requires our clients such as hotels and resorts, companies who sell online, offer memberships to collect more permissions during the booking, buying or signing up process, as well as complying with requests for information or removals.
Compliance with GDPR is really just a matter of “good clean living,” says Agoes Mulyadi from MMC Marketing Group. In other words, it’s about implementing best practices that any company should have in place, anyway. “At the end of the day it’s each client who is responsible.”
We have ensured all third parties or services we offer are all compliant. We have taken steps to ensure that they understand their legal responsibilities as a data collector and data processor.
MMC Marketing Group, eRez Booking Engine and AAAM IT have taken all the right necessary steps to inform and stay informed.
